Multiple Postdoctoral Fellow Positions
Laboratory for Translational Bioanalysis and Engineering at UF
Multiple postdoc positions are available in Prof. Yong Zeng’s lab in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Florida and the UF Health Cancer Center. Our group is focused on developing new micro/nanotechnologies for precision diagnosis and therapy of disease, including cancer (see our recent publications on Sci. Transl. Med., Nat. Biomed. Eng., andChem. Sci. at www.zenggroup.org).
Position Description
1. At least one postdoc position is available in the field of COVID-19 diagnostics. The responsibilities of the position(s) include the development and clinical validation of novel nanochips for POC testing of SARS-CoV-2. This position is open immediately and will close once filled. The position is intended to be a two-year term, with renewal after one year.
2. Multiple positions are funded by our NIH grants to develop new biosensing methods and nanotechnology-inspired microfluidic systems for ultrasensitive molecular and functional analysis of extracellular vesicles as liquid biopsy of tumors. These positions offer opportunities to work with our biological and clinical collaborators to translate these technologies into animal studies and clinical diagnosis of various cancers. The positions are available starting as early as February 2021.
Qualifications
A recent Ph.D. in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, molecular/cell biology, bioengineering or biomedical sciences is required. Strong expertise in one or several of the following fields is preferred: microfluidics, nanomaterials, biosensing, pathogen analysis, cancer biology, and immunology. The successful candidate is expected to be self-motivated and have strong written and oral communication skills. The candidate must be able to work productively in both independent research and collaborations with other members in the lab and with collaborators.
