A post-doc position is available immediately in the Wu lab, department of medicine, the University of Chicago.
The Wu lab will be focusing on the broad subject of endothelial and epithelial junctions under the disease models of acute lung injury and pulmonary hypertension.
To study these disease mechanisms, the lab will be employing superresolution microscopy to better understand the organization and dynamics of the molecular machines that make up these junctions, and their affect on metabolism using our FRET probes. Thus, most of the work will involve mammalian cloning with CRISPR, advanced optical microscopy (down to 20 nm resolution in x,y and z), and image analysis. On the back end will be some animal work, but the focus initially will be cell biology. (More information please see https://wulab.uchicago.edu)
The lab is well funded. Looking for post-docs who are willing to stay either long term (5 years) or short term. Prefer people with experience with CRISPR, programming, etc., but these skills can in principle be learnt on the job.
Please inquire if interested. Contact information dwu1@medicine.bsd.uchicago.edu.
