【招聘信息】
We are seeking a motivated and creative Postdoctoral Researcher to
undertake a research project investigating the molecular mechanisms of bacterial cell-cell interactions and their impact on microbial community
population dynamics. This work is funded by a project grant from Medical Research Council, UK and will be undertaken as part of the research team led by Dr Brian Ho. You will make use of both in vitro and in vivo models of microbial communities to characterize the mechanisms governing interbacterial antagonism and DNAconjugation-based horizontal gene transfer. You will have a unique opportunity to not only explore mechanisms of cell-cell interactions but also to translate this understanding toward the development of biotechnological tools for modulating microbial community composition and behavior. As part of the Ho Lab
(http://www.ismb.lon.ac.uk/brian-ho/ (http://www.ismb.lon.ac.uk/brian-ho/)), you will have the opportunity to interact and collaborate with other researchers at the Institute of Structural and Molecular Biology (ISMB)
(http://www.ismb.lon.ac.uk/ (http://www.ismb.lon.ac.uk/)) at Birkbeck College and University College London. Applicants are expected to have earned a PhD in microbiology, molecular biology or another related field and have relevant research experience, ideally backed by relevant research publication(s). Enthusiasm for the research area and the ability to bring new approaches and ideas to the table will be highly valued in applicants.
