【职位介绍】
Multiple Post-Doctoral Research Fellow positions are available in the Dr. Cui Tao’s group at the School of Biomedical Informatics (SBMI) at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Our laboratory is focusing on biomedical data and knowledge integration/management, big data science, natural language processing, and machine learning/deep learning approaches applied to health and health behavioral research including cancer research, clinical decision support, and patient communication.
The positions are under the direct supervision of Cui Tao, PhD to support skilled computer scientists and informaticians interested in developing a career in data science applied to biomedical informatics research. The position includes opportunities to receive training in data management, developing machine learning/deep learning methods to analyze big biomedical data, proposal/paper writing, and developing an independent area of research. The research fellow candidate will also have opportunities in working closely with students including co-mentoring graduate/intern students and providing supports in lectures.
【具体要求】
Requirements for this position include having completed a BS (MS preferred) for the research assistant position or a PhD for the Post-Doc Fellow position preferably from Computer Science, Statistics, Biomedical Informatics, or Engineering, demonstrated strong quantitative analytic skills including programming skills, and evidence in publishing research article related to biomedical informatics and computer sciences. About Dr. Cui Tao
Dr. Cui Tao is a full professor in biomedical informatics, and the director of Center for Biomedical Semantics and Data Intelligence (BSDI) at the School of Biomedical Informatics (SBMI) at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Dr. Tao is an elected fellow of the American College of Medical Informatics (FACMI) and has a decade of professional research activity in the field of Biomedical Informatics. Dr. Tao have published more than 150 peer-reviewed articles and been invited to publish 13 editorials. Her articles have been cited in over 2,000 publications by other researchers from 40 countries. Dr. Tao has been a principal investigator (PI) or a co-investigator (co-I) of projects supported by over $60 Million in federal or state funding. Currently, she is the PI for three NIH funded projects. Dr. Tao is also a recipient of a Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE), the highest honor bestowed by the United States Government on science and engineering professionals in the early stages of their independent research careers.
