NIH-funded Postdoctoral fellow positions are available in the Zheng lab at the University of California Riverside. Current research projects investigate emerging roles of alternative splicing and nonsensemediated mRNA decay in brain development, neuronal longevity, and neurodegeneration (Neuron 2020, JMB 2020, Neuron 2019, NAR 2019, NAR2018, RNA 2017, Cell Reports 2016). The position offers an amazing opportunity to continue training in neuroscience and RNA biology with an emphasis on cutting-edge cell and molecular biology, imaging, genome editing, genetics, biochemistry, ribogenomics, and informatics approaches. We welcome and strongly support scientists with diverse backgrounds who are energetic and highly motivated for career advancement. Salary is commensurate upon qualifications and 2-step higher than NIH NRSA stipends.
Strong background in RNA biology, developmental neurobiology, computational biology, and mouse genetics is highly preferred. PhDs with expertise in one or more of the following, biochemistry, in utero electroporation, single cell technology, genome editing, RNA binding proteins, ribogenomics, and cell death are strongly encouraged to apply.
