    美国德州大学西南医学中心仲振宇课题组招收博士后

    美国德州大学西南医学中心仲振宇课题组招收博士后

    Postdoctoral Fellow Positions Available

    at UT Southwestern Medical Center

Postdoctoral fellow positions are immediately available in Dr. Zhenyu Zhong’s lab at the Department of Immunology, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (https://www.utsouthwestern.edu/labs/zhong-zhenyu/).

Our lab’s research focuses on uncovering the fundamental molecular mechanisms by which inflammation is initiated, propagated and terminated when no longer needed (see examples of our recent work: Nature. 2018 Aug;560(7717):198-203; Cell. 2016 Feb 25;164(5):896-910; Nat Commun. 2017 Apr 11;8:15004; Cell. 2016 Jul 14;166(2):288-298; Nat Immunol. 2017 Jul 19;18(8):861-869; Trends in Immunology. 2019 Dec;40(12):1120-1133).

By utilizing a combination of biochemical, genetic, molecular, immunological, live-imaging and histological tools as well as single-cell “omics” approaches, we aim to decipher the multifaceted roles of mitochondria in innate immune regulation. Currently, we focus on understanding how mitochondria sense the loss of cellular homeostasis, and transmit stress signals to the rest of the cell (e.g. cytoplasm, ER and nucleus) to ultimately induce immune activation. Additionally, we are also interested in understanding how common disease risk factors (e.g. aging and dietary obesity) affect mitochondrial signaling, thereby permitting the onset of chronic inflammation that accelerates disease progression.

We are looking to recruit talented postdoctoral fellows with research experience in immunology, cell biology, biochemistry and/or cancer biology. Potential candidates should have a Ph.D. or M.D/Ph.D degree in a related biomedical field. Women and underrepresented minorities in academia are strongly encouraged to apply. If interested, please send CV and three reference letters to zhenyu.zhong@utsouthwestern.edu
