Purdue University the Materials Innovation in Nuclear Energy Lab (MINE, https://engineering.purdue.edu/MINE) is a part of the School of Nuclear Engineering and is located on Purdue main campus. The research group conducts experimental and theoretical research on Energy Materials and elucidate the underlying principles. The group translates new experimental results rapidly into conceptual progress and industrial applications through collaborating with national laboratories, universities, and industries. Research in the MINE Lab focuses on manufacturing of novel materials in extreme environment applications, high-throughput screen technologies to accelerate materials discovery, and fundamental understanding of materials degradation.
The positions include:
· One Fellowship position for the PhD student (international only).
· One Fellowship position for the Master or PhD student (U.S. citizenship only).
· Two Graduate Research Associate (GRA) positions for PhD students (International or U.S. citizenship).
· One half-Graduate Teaching Associate (GTA) and half-GRA position for a Master or PhD student (International or U.S. citizenship).
Applications are open until all positions are filled. Women and underrepresented minorities are encouraged to apply these positions.
The Purdue Engineering Graduate Program ranked 4th in the U.S. (published in March 2021 in U.S. News & World Report), tied with California Institute of Technology and Carnegie Mellon University. Purdue Engineering is made up of 11 schools and 2 divisions: aeronautics and astronautics, agricultural and biological, biomedical, chemical, civil, electrical and computer, engineering education, industrial, materials, mechanical, nuclear, construction engineering and management, and environmental and ecological engineering. Also, the college houses programs such as Purdue Online – Engineering, EPICS (Engineering Projects in Community Service), the Minority Engineering Program, the Women in Engineering Program and Global Engineering Programs and Partnerships.
The School of Nuclear Engineering strives to expand the frontier of knowledge through cutting-edge and innovative research in comprehensive areas of nuclear engineering, science, and technology; to educate top-notch ethical nuclear engineers and launch future leaders in global nuclear engineering community; and to disseminate knowledge by our students and faculty through dynamic engagement with the global society and strong partnership. The overarching goal for Purdue Nuclear Engineering is to be the leading nuclear engineering academic institution in the nation, continue the legacy of excellence in education and research of Purdue Nuclear Engineering by recruiting top scholars, maximize the use of our unique test facilities toward expanding our research and educational portfolios, and establish partnership in all sectors of nuclear engineering through our strong alumni in industry, national laboratories, and government agencies.
具体要求 We are always looking for highly motivated graduate students with a solid background in Material Science and Engineering, such as alloy/ceramic/composite manufacturing and experiments, MD/DFT simulation, and any areas related to Energy Materials. We are now seeking several graduate students to join the creative group. 联系方式 Application Process: Please send the Cover Letter and CV to Prof. Xie (xie90@purdue.edu), and submit the graduate school application materials to Purdue University.
